Dataton Academy

The Dataton Academy was founded in 2012 and has been offering AVIXA certified training for Dataton WATCHOUT ever since. 

We started WATCHOUT user training in 2007 and have been certified for the official WATCHOUT training courses since the founding of the Dataton Academy.

We currently offer WATCHOUT Certified User trainings at regular intervals, which is a face-to-face event over two days that teaches all the essential functions of WATCHOUT. The training includes various exercise blocks in which the participants are to apply the knowledge imparted. Previous knowledge of how to use WATCHOUT is not required. The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 6 people.

The seminar is aimed at technical users, such as media or event technicians, but is also occasionally attended by media planners or employees of creative agencies.

The most important topics of our WATCHOUT 7 seminar are:

• Structure of a WATCHOUT 7 system (software, hardware, licensing,...)
• The asset manager and the treatment of different media
• The new workflow under WATCHOUT 7
• The Producer software (timelines, layers, cues, effects,...)
• Dynamic content (capture cards, NDI, dynamic media cues,...)
• External control of WATCHOUT and controlling the outside world from WATCHOUT
• 3D projection mapping 

Please note that we offer both German-language and English-language dates.

A current notebook with Windows 10 or 11 is required to participate. The graphics card must support the Vulkan 1.3 API and the CPU the AVX function library. We recommend a display resolution of 2560x1440 or more.

PIXILAB Blocks® Training

In cooperation with the manufacturer PIXILAB, we have been offering compact online seminars on the PIXILAB Blocks System for some time.

The two-hour introductory seminar offers a good overview of the possibilities of PIXILAB Blocks. During the session, you will see real-life application examples and learn the basic concepts. New users, potential customers and anyone interested in dynamic audiovisual experiences are welcome.

The two-hour BASIC training is a hands-on introductory seminar for new users of PIXILAB Blocks. No previous experience is necessary. We'll start with an empty project and you'll learn the basic concepts of spots and blocks from scratch directly on your notebook, which connects to a Blocks cloud account to do so.

In addition to these online seminars, we also offer face-to-face seminars in Berlin if there is sufficient demand. These last about 5-6 hours and cover the BASIC training and the INTERMEDIATE training, which covers more in-depth concepts such as tagging, behaviors, properties and much more.

The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 12 people.
